Christmas Week Will See Dangerously Cold Air and Possibly Snow

A strong cold front, and perhaps a bit of snow, arrives Thursday. Wind chills below zero (-5 to -25 range) are likely Thursday and Friday. Some areas could see 1″ to 2″ of snow Thursday. Now’s the time to plan and prepare.

Dangerous wind chills are likely Thursday with sharply colder and windy conditions behind the front.
Accumulating snowfall is possible Wednesday night into Thursday as well, but there is lower confidence on snowfall (when compared to the high confidence for the colder temperatures).
The coldest days will be Thursday and Friday before temperatures begin to gradually moderate over the weekend.  The City of Ponca City has some helpful tips to help you avoid freezing pipes.  Find them by clicking here.
