The City of Caldwell has been announced as one of eight community projects across the state to receive loan and grant money from the United States Department of Agriculture.
According to a news release from USDA Kansas Director for Rural Development Christy Davis Monday morning, a $479,000 loan and a $512,000 grant will supplement previous funding for improvements to the water supply system of the City of Caldwell.
Funds already assigned to this project include a prior award from Rural Development’s Water and Waste Disposal Loan in the amount of $1,558,000 and a Kansas Department of Commerce-Community Development Block Grant in the amount of $600,000.
“This project ensures that the city will have safe and reliable water for many years to come,” the news release stated.
Overall, the eight community projects across the state total $2.3 million in community infrastructure and economic development, USDA says.
