Crews are working to fix a water main breaks in Ark City.
According to Ark City Mayor Kanyon Gingher, a break at Kansas Avenue near 8th Street was first suspected at 2:30 a.m. and crews have been working to locate and fix the 14-inch main. Another main break was discovered Thursday afternoon at 3rd and Cedar.
“This is a huge undertaking,” Gingher posted on the Ark City Asked and Answered Facebook page Thursday afternoon regarding the Kansas Avenue break. “The water is coming into the break and they’re pumping it out as fast as they can.”
Traffic near the breaks may be disrupted.
