Leadership Cowley County is accepting applications for its Fall 2022 class.
The organization defines itself as a community leadership program “with the mission to equip and build capacity in people to create change in self, our community and the world.”
According to a press release from LCC, the class is not only a call to action to those who are already aware of their leadership skills, but is also a means for developing skills in those who are not sure of their leadership capabilities.
“It provides transformational skill sets needed to improve the capacity to interact productively with others,” the press release states.
The Leadership Cowley County program is open to all backgrounds, education and skill levels in the principles of both personal and civic leadership.
Class members learn about and visit various locations in the county and are introduced to and work with curriculum developed by the Kansas Leadership Center. The Kansas Leadership Center is a leadership development organization funded by a core-operating grant from the Kansas Health Foundation.
Upon successful completion of the program, class members will have:
a thorough knowledge of their individual leadership skills
an enhanced awareness of community needs and assets
new professional relationships
enhanced networking capabilities
a heightened sense of self-reflection
the chance for personal transformation
Each leadership class is composed of two full day and five half-day, afternoon sessions.
The program content builds from week to week making attendance at all sessions a requirement. Session dates for the 2022 leadership class: September 22 and 29, October 6 and 20, November 3, 10 and 17. Class tuition is $150; apply before August 31st and receive a $50 early bird discount. Scholarship assistance may be available and can be requested at time of application.
Application deadline is September 15th.
