On 05-19-2022 at approximately 2000 hours, the state of Kansas issued an Amber Alert for a missing child out of Rosehill, Kansas. It was report an unidentified male subject and the child’s biological mother took the child from his school and left in a VW Jetta. The Jetta was later located in Arkansas City, Kansas but the suspects and the child were not located. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation requested the assistance of OHP.
Troop K Troopers Billy Overbey #677, Aaron Crompton #851, Romulus Gregory #430, LT Phillip Ludwyck #155 and Troop J Trooper Kyle Rosine #523 quickly set up a roving perimeter in Kay County.
It was reported through the Kansas Bureau of Investigation the suspect vehicle was located near the Pilot gas station in Tonkawa, Oklahoma traveling south on I-35. Troopers Overbey and Rosine located the suspect vehicle near the 203 mile marker. They stopped the vehicle near the 199 mile marker were a male and female were taken into custody. The missing child was inside the vehicle and was found to be unharmed.
The Investigation is still ongoing.
