PCPS Attendance Reminders

SHARE NOW

Please remember, it is the parent’s or guardian’s responsibility to notify the school by phone or written message when a student is to miss one or more classes.

For the safety of your children, parents should call the site attendance office the morning of the day the student is to be absent and state the specific reason for the student being away from school. Doing so ensures we know they are not supposed to be at school.

Work can be made up for absences. The student will be given one day to make up work for each

day of class he/she has missed. It is the student’s responsibility to make up work in the allotted time.

In addition, Ponca City High School has school policy for final exemptions related to student attendance:

To be exempt from the semester test in a class the student must:

Maintain an “A” average with no more than five (5) absences.

Maintain a “B” average with no more than four (4) absences.

Maintain a “C” average with no more than three (3) absences.

Students with a “D” or “F” average are not exempt

Exemption from a final exam does not equal exemption from attending school. All students are required to attend school on semester test days. Students who do not attend will be counted absent.
