Ponca City Public School orchestra students traveled to Edmond recently to audition for the North Central Honor Orchestra. Students auditioned from across the state and only a select group made it from each grade level.
Four West Middle School students were accepted into the Seventh Grade Honor Orchestra. They include Liliana Alva (bass), Frankie Diaz (viola), Brendalinn Gale (violin) and Jhansi Rapeti (violin).
On Nov. 18 the students traveled with their director, Cassidy Broome, to Oklahoma City University. They will attend two days of rehearsals before performing alongside the other selected students from across the state. Their concert will be held on Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Petree Recital Hall at 1:30 p.m. under the direction of Robyn Hilger, State Teacher of the Year. Admission to the concert is free.
