The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 1,221 new positive COVID-19 cases for Thursday, Oct. 15. Oklahoma’s seen an overall total of 103,836 COVID-19 cases as 13,913 cases are active.
11 additional virus-related deaths were reported on Thursday to bring Oklahoma’s death toll to 1,143. One of the new deaths reported was in Payne County who now has a death toll of nine.
Kay County saw four additional COVID-19 cases on Thursday, putting the county’s stats to 775 cases, 15 deaths and 659 recoveries. As for active cases in local communities, there are 71 for Ponca City, 13 for Newkirk, 11 for Blackwell, seven for Tonkawa and one for Kaw City.
As for new cases in local counties, there are 36 for Garfield, 21 for Washington, 20 for Payne, 14 for Osage, 13 for Logan, six for Pawnee, two for Grant and one for Noble.

OSDH is also reporting 1,205 new recoveries to put Oklahoma’s overall recovery total to 88,780. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
Officials report that as of Wednesday, there have been 1,283,054 total negative specimen, 7,529 total hospitalizations and 749 patients are currently hospitalized.
