17 year old dead after car-train collision east of Fairmont Sunday afternoon

A 17 year old Covington teen is dead after a car–train collision east of Fairmont on Sunday afternoon.  The teen, who’s name has not been released, was a passenger in a 2004 Lincoln Aviator driven by 36 year old Anthony George Kegin of Covington.  Kegin was traveling southbound on 138th Road, approaching a railroad crossing, at about 1:40 yesterday afternoon and failed to yield to an eastbound train.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports the driver was taken by Medi-Flight to OU Medical Center and admitted in critical conditions. The 17 year old was pronounced dead at the scene.  The accident took place ½ miles south and 2 miles east of Fairmont in Garfield County.
