2,307 new COVID-19 cases, 23 virus-related deaths and 2,505 new recoveries reported by OSDH on Wednesday

The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 2,307 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, Dec. 9. Oklahoma’s seen 222,993 COVID-19 cases overall as 29,523 cases are active.

A total of 23 additional virus-related deaths were documented to put Oklahoma’s death toll at 1,945. One death being a Logan County female in the 65 or older age group.

Kay County saw an increase with 36 new COVID-19 cases to put the stats at 2,189 cases, 26 deaths and 1,839 recoveries. For active cases in Kay County, there are 255 for Ponca City, 47 for Blackwell, 24 for Newkirk, 15 for Tonkawa and one for Braman. Complete data for Kay County communities is posted below.

Ponca City – 1,613 cases/13 deaths/1,345 recoveries

Blackwell – 255 cases/4 deaths/204 recoveries

Newkirk – 186 cases/1 death/161 recoveries

Tonkawa – 147 cases/6 deaths/126 recoveries

Kaw City – 33 cases/1 death/32 recoveries

Braman – 8 cases/0 deaths/7 recoveries

 

For new cases in local counties, there are 56 for Garfield, 27 for Logan, 21 for Payne, 17 for Osage, 20 for Noble, 14 for Pawnee and nine for Grant.

Garfield County – 4,396 cases/37 deaths/3,883 recoveries

Washington County – 2,310 cases/50 deaths/1,985 recoveries

Kay County – 2,189 cases/26 deaths/1,839 recoveries

Logan County – 1,848 cases/5 deaths/1,491 recoveries

Pawnee County – 709 cases/9 deaths/597 recoveries

Noble County – 683 cases/4 deaths/546 recoveries

Grant County – 248 cases/5 deaths/209 recoveries

 

OSDH is also reporting 2,505 new recoveries to bring Oklahoma’s recovery total to 191,525. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.

As of Wednesday, health officials report that there have been 2,055,918 negative test results, 13,634 total hospitalizations and 1,745 Oklahomans currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.
