2,975 COVID-19 cases, 16 virus-related deaths and 3,383 recoveries reported by OSDH Thursday

The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 2,975 new positive COVID-19 cases for Thursday, Dec. 17. Oklahoma’s seen 248,204 COVID-19 cases overall as 31,770 cases are active.

A total of 16 virus-related deaths were also documented Thursday, putting Oklahoma’s death toll to 2,144. There are no new virus-related deaths for northern Oklahoma counties.

Kay County saw an increase with 58 new COVID-19 cases, putting the county at 2,605 cases, 27 virus-related deaths and 2,120 recoveries. As for new cases in Kay County communities, there are 39 for Ponca City, seven for Blackwell, six for Tonkawa, four for Newkirk and one for Kaw City.

Ponca City – 1,916 cases/14 deaths/1,565 recoveries

Blackwell – 307 cases/4 deaths/247 recoveries

Newkirk – 220 cases/1 death/181 recoveries

Tonkawa – 178 cases/6 deaths/138 recoveries

Kaw City – 36 cases/1 death/32 recoveries

Braman – 9 cases/0 deaths/7 recoveries

 

For new COVID-19 cases in local counties, there are 67 for Payne, 33 for Washington, 26 for Pawnee, 24 for Logan, 21 for Osage, 19 for Noble, 15 for Garfield and three for Grant.

Garfield County – 4,749 cases/41 deaths/4,239 recoveries

Washington County – 2,663 cases/52 deaths/2,300 recoveries

Kay County – 2,605 cases/27 deaths/2,120 recoveries

Osage County – 2,493 cases/21 deaths/2,186 recoveries

Logan County – 2,086 cases/5 deaths/1,756 recoveries

Pawnee County – 834 cases/9 deaths/673 recoveries

Noble County – 803 cases/5 deaths/643 recoveries

Grant County – 302 cases/5 deaths/242 recoveries

 

OSDH is also reporting 3,383 new reoveries on Thursday, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 214,290. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.

As of Thursday, health officials report that there have been 2,158,637 negative test results, 14,821 total hospitalizations and 1,699 Oklahomans currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.
