719 new positive COVID-19 cases reported by OSDH on Wednesday

The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 719 new positive COVID-19 cases for Wednesday, Sept. 3. Oklahoma has seen an overall total of 60,118 COVID-19 cases, and 8,651 cases are active.

Latest report shows 12 new virus-related deaths were documented on Wednesday to put Oklahoma’s death toll to 821. One of those deaths was a Washington County man in the 65 or older age group. Washington County also has five new COVID-19 cases to put their stats to 803 cases, 40 deaths and 694 recoveries.

Kay County has one new COVID-19 case as the stats are currently 327 cases, 12 deaths and 263 recoveries. As for active cases in Kay County, there are 45 in Ponca City, four in Blackwell, three in Newkirk and one in Tonkawa.

As for new cases in local counties, there are 43 for Payne County, 34 for Garfield County, four for Noble County, three for Logan County and two each for Grant and Osage counties.

OSDH is reporting 657 new recoveries on Wednesday, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 50,646. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.

Officials also report that as of Tuesday, 833,124 test results have returned negative. There have been 4,961 total hospitalizations as 545 people are currently hospitalized.
