895 new COVID-19 cases for Oklahoma on Thursday


The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 895 new positive COVID-19 cases for Thursday, March 4. Oklahoma’s seen 426,641 COVID-19 cases overall as 12,379 cases are active. The number of active cases is 131 more than Wednesday.

For the second day in a row, OSDH did not report any new virus-related deaths. Oklahoma’s death toll remains at 4,534.

Kay County saw two new COVID-19 case on Thursday, putting the county at 5,089 COVID-19 cases, 81 deaths and 4,855 recoveries. There are 153 active cases in Kay County, which is two more than Wednesday. Data for local communities is posted below:


Ponca City – 3,726 cases/47 deaths/3,572 recoveries

Blackwell – 643 cases/18 deaths/597 recoveries

Newkirk – 428 cases/3 death/411 recoveries

Tonkawa – 355 cases/14 deaths/332 recoveries

Kaw City – 62 cases/1 death/61 recoveries

Braman – 22 cases/1 death/20 recoveries



As for new cases in local counties, there are 24 for Washington, 17 for Payne, 12 for Logan, nine for Osage, four for Garfield, two each for Grant and Pawnee and one for Noble. Data for local counties is posted below:


Payne County – 8,397 cases/47 deaths/8,149 recoveries

Garfield County – 7,593 cases/78 deaths/7,326 recoveries

Kay County – 5,089 cases/81 deaths/4,855 recoveries

Washington County – 4,819 cases/89 deaths/4,593 recoveries

Osage County – 4,499 cases/52 deaths/4,331 recoveries

Logan County – 3,997 cases/28 deaths/3,831 recoveries

Pawnee County – 1,711 cases/33 deaths/1,626 recoveries

Noble County – 1,351 cases/13 deaths/1,289 recoveries

Grant County – 538 cases/7 deaths/521 recoveries


OSDH is reporting 765 new recoveries for Thursday. Oklahoma’s recovery total is now at 409,728. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.

There have been 839,401 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine administered in Oklahoma and that there are 293,397 completed series. The number of prime doses given is 546,004. There have also been 568,735 prime doses allocated and 400,925 boost doses allocated.
