The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 916 new positive COVID-19 cases for Oklahoma on Saturday, July 18. Oklahoma has now seen 25,056 cases since the start of the pandemic, and 5,870 cases are active.
Kay County saw an increase with five new cases on Saturday, putting the county at 146 cases, 9 deaths and 113 recoveries. Ponca City has 22 active cases, two in Tonkawa and one in Newkirk. There are no active cases in Blackwell and Kaw City.
As for new cases in surrounding counties, Garfield County saw the biggest increase with 16, Payne County has 15, Osage County with nine, Washington County has seven, six for Pawnee County, five for Logan County and Grant and Noble counties both with one. OSDH is reporting six new virus-related deaths on Saturday, none of which occurred in northern Oklahoma. The state’s death toll is at 451.
New data also shows that 420 more individuals in the state have recovered from COVID-19, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total at 19,186. According to OSDH, A recovered patient is currently not hospitalized or deceased and it has been 14 days after onset/report.
Data from Friday shows that there have been up to 440,904 negative specimens in total, 2,289 total hospitalizations and 604 people currently hospitalized.
According to a graph posted at coronavirus.health.ok.gov, the group with the most COVID-19 cases appears to be the 18-35 age group who has seen 36.51% of the cases. For other groups, 21.86% are in the 36-49 age group, 17.73% in the 50-64 age group, 14.26% in the 65 or older age group, 7.73% in the 5-17 age group and 2.18% in the 0-4 age group.
