Due to the Pandemic, the Ponca City Chamber announced that all ribbon cuttings for the rest of 2020 are going to be cancelled. This is including the one originally scheduled for today at 4 p.m. for Central Fare.
The chamber feels they should not be promoting groups coming together. However, the chamber does have an idea of what they will do instead of a traditional Ribbon Cutting in recognizing a new business to Ponca City.
Here it is: On a certain day that they would want their ribbon cutting, the chamber will promote people visiting the business. You will leave your business card with the business. Then the next day, the chamber will draw out from the business cards left at the business a winner of a $25 Chamber Buck.
Also from the Ponca City Chamber, it has been decided to not have Chamber Events that create large public groups of people. Having said that, they have cancelled the remaining business after hours for 2020 including the Holiday event in December sponsored by the Chamber, PCDA and the City of Ponca City.
And the 35th Ponca City Leadership Class year has been postponed to August 2021. The class will be made up of the same 24 selected this year.
