Amie Huster, a graduate of Ponca City High School, has been named the new head cheerleading coach for Ponca City Public Schools.
Coach Huster is no stranger to the glow of Friday night lights as she cheered for Ponca City from seventh grade through her senior year when she served as cheer captain. She took lessons for 18 years from Kem’s Gym and Inciardi Dance and racked up a number of cheerleading awards. Acknowledgements include ACA and UCA All Star Cheerleader (1998, 1999, 2000), ACA Star Jumper and Star Tumbler (1999, 2000, 2001), NCA All American Team (1998-1999), Varsity All American Cheerleader (1999) and Leadership Ponca City graduate (2008).
Huster is thrilled to bring her years of experience and expertise to this program and take it to the next level.
When she is not coaching, Huster can be found working as a personal trainer, having founded a successful bootcamp class that continues to change lives to this day.
She has been a part of the Ponca City Public Schools administration staff since 2019 and is currently working to obtain her bachelor’s degree in health and sports science at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. The member of Northeast Baptist Church is a proud single mother to Lexie and Logan, both successful athletes in their own respect.
Huster is filled with so much gratitude and love for all the people that have supported her to reach this milestone. She and her family are excited to begin this new chapter in their lives and cannot wait to continue to make the Ponca City Wildcat cheer team a top sports program.
“We are thrilled to have Amie Huster step in to lead our cheer program. Amie has strong ties to the community and will provide great leadership for our student-athletes,” said Jason Leavitt, athletic director.
