A Blackwell man entered a no contest plea on Thursday in the Kay County District Court for charges of sexual assault to children.
Tommie Robert Shoemaker, 42, is facing one felony count of 1st degree rape, one felony count of rape by instrumentation and seven felony counts of lewd and/or indecent acts to a child under the age of 16.
According to court records and police logs, Shoemaker was arrested on March 19, 2019 by Blackwell Police when two young female victims reported that they were sexually assaulted by him.
On Thursday, Shoemaker was sentenced to 11 years in prison with all but one year suspended. He is also to be under the supervision of the Department of Corrections, must register as a sex offender and is allowed no contact with the victims
