The Ponca City Board of Education made a change to the mask policy Monday night during the monthly board of education meeting.

The new policy states that masks are required indoors at PCPS during normal school hours with opt-out exemptions offered if a school site reaches THREE PERCENT affected by COVID. Masks are still required on buses by federal order through March 18, 2022.

Kay County’s risk level was down to 101.4, after an all-time high of 253. PCPS COVID data last week, however, was one of the lowest on record. Last Thursday, the last day of school for students until Tuesday, there was not one case or close contact recorded.

The district website at www.pcps.us will be updated each day with percentages at each school site.

Below is a copy of today’s chart that shows the color-coded sites.
