Dylan Ray Matthew, 37, of Ponca City is set to make an appearance in the Kay County District Court after being charged with a felony count of cruelty to animals after two or more felony convictions.
A Kay County deputy reports he responded to the 3300 block of Sunny Lane for a report of a subject who reportedly shot a horse. The horse’s owner told the deputy that he heard a gun shot and that his horse jumped in the air. The owner also saw Matthews running from the tree line. The owner saw a small hole on the side of the horse, causing him to believe that Matthew shot the horse.
Matthews was then booked into jail and has a bond set at $25,000.
