The City of Ponca City has received a grant from Oklahoma Humanities in the amount of $15,000.00 made possible through the American Rescue Plan. These funds will be used to hire additional cleaning crews at the Marland Mansion.
The City of Ponca City said in a Facebook post that the humanities are important to the community through artistic, cultural and educational opportunities. Through exploration of the humanities citizens learn how to think creatively and critically, to reason, to ask questions, and to learn. This funding allows the City to provide this opportunity in a safe environment.
The City of Ponca City also said that they’re very appreciative of the funds being granted to the organization and wish to thank Congressman Frank Lucas and Senator Jim Inhofe for their leadership through the COVID-19 pandemic.
