Ponca Post News reported yesterday a ONE-VEHICLE ACCIDENT late Friday night that caused a fire at an oil battery. The driver of a pickup truck traveling southbound on Ranch Drive that crashed into the oil battery causing a fire that consumed the vehicle and killed the driver, has been identified. Ponca City resident Camron Ross was identified. A witness said Ross drove off the road and into the oil battery, landing on the gas meter at the heat treater. The witness saw an explosion and called 911.
Identification was delayed because all personal effects were destroyed by the fire.
