Here’s the latest on the early morning earthquake. The largest quake which measured 4.7 was centered eight miles southwest of Cherokee in Alfalfa county. That earthquake occured at 1:42 a.m. The second quake occured at 3:40 a.m. and measured 3.1 also in Alfalfa county. At 6:03 a.m. a 3.7 earthquake was recorded also near Cherokee. The earthquakes were felt as far away as Kansas City, Wichita and Tulsa. There were no reports of injuries or damage. It was the 20th earthquake of 4.0 or over this year.
