Failure To Appear Suspect Captured

A suspect in a five hour manhunt on West Hubbard Road, was captured and is being held in the Kay County Detention Center.

Several law enforcement agencies were involved in the search which began before 8 a.m. Tuesday morning.

30 year old Ponca Citian, Corey Andrew Vowell was located hiding in tall Johnson grass and, according to Sheriff Steve Kelley, “He got spooked when the chopper was in the air.”

The suspect was wanted on four failure to appear warrants and is being held on a $200,000 bond.

Vowell’s criminal history includes nine second degree burglary cases, assault with a dangerous weapon, distributing a controlled dangerous substance within 2,000 feet of a park or school, possession of a firearm after a felony conviction, knowingly concealing stolen property, leaving scene of accident , false report of a crime, traffic charges and embezzlement.
