Flu kills 45 people in Oklahoma

45 people have died from the flu and 1400 have been hospitalized in Oklahoma.  The Oklahoma Department of Health said all of the deaths and more than half of those hospitilzed are over 50 years of age.  Tulsa county has the most flu related deaths in the state with 10.  Nine people have been hospitalized because of the flu in Kay county.

Here are tips for flu prevention.  Get a flu shot.  It takes about two weeks for the shot to become effective.  Wash your hands with soap and water and cover your coughs and sneezes.  Don’t go to work sick.
