Saturday May 14th is Stamp Out Hunger Day as the letter carriers across our nation and state collect food donations to assist millions of Americans struggling with hunger. This is the 24th year and is the nation’s largest single day food drive. United Way works hand in hand with the letter carrier food drive.
Food items that are popular include cereal, pasta, canned fruits and vegetables, peanut butter, rice and mac and cheese. Hunger affects over 49 million people across the country. On Saturday May 14, leave the food items at your mail box in bags that will be provided and letter carriers with assistance from other local groups will pick the items up. The food will be taken to the Ponca City Post Office downtown for counting and distribution.
