Former Ponca City High School principal and head football coach Dr. Bo Hannaford has been nominated to fill the top academic position at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva. Dr. Hannaford’s appointment is subject to approval from the state board of regents. Bo Hannaford is a native of Alva, but was a very successful football coach in Ponca City and high school principal before going home to Alva in 2011. Dr. Hannaford replaces Dr. Steve Lohmann who will retire this summer.
