Two area teams will not be playing high school football on Friday, Nov. 5.
Blackwell’s game at home against Oklahoma Christian Schools, and Newkirk’s game at Perry are the two games cancelled. Blackwell and Newkirk both reported new COVID-19 cases within their schools this week.
Newkirk is going with virtual classes this week due to 8 employees and students that have tested positive for COVID-19 and approximately 65 contact traced individuals. Blackwell Public Schools confirmed earlier in the week that two Blackwell High School students tested positive for COVID-19. It’s unknown at this time as to how many contact traced individuals there are.
