The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 1,025 new positive COVID-19 cases for Tuesday, Sept. 29. Oklahoma’s seen an overall total of 86,219 COVID-19 cases as 13,244 cases are active.
Among the 11 new COVID-19 deaths reported for Tuesday to put Oklahoma’s death toll at 1,018, two of those were local. Grant County saw its first virus-related death. The individual was a female in the 65 or older group from the Deer Creek area. Payne County saw its seventh virus-related death. The individual was a male in the 65 or older age group. Stillwater has seen a total of 5 virus-related deaths.
An additional 20 new COVID-19 cases were reported for Kay County, putting the county’s stats to 616 cases, 13 deaths and 457 recoveries. As for the active cases in the county, there are 131 for Ponca City, nine for Tonkawa, eight for Newkirk and seven for Blackwell. There are no active cases for Braman or Kaw City.
For new cases in local counties, there are 21 each for Garfield and Payne counties, 15 for Osage County, 12 for Logan County, seven for Washington County, three for Pawnee County and two for Grant County.

An additional 1,149 new recoveries were reported on Tuesday, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 71,957. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
Officials report that as of Tuesday, 1,106,184 test results have returned negative. There have been 6,366 total hospitalizations as 618 people are currently hospitalized.
