A Caldwell, Ks. man was involved in a personal injury collision at 4:35 p.m. Saturday afternoon on U.S. 60 and County Road 1050, eastbound, approximately one-half mile south of Lamont in Grant County.

Charles C. Sparks, 57, was driving a 1994 GMC Sierra eastbound on U.S. 60 when he departed the roadway to the right, entered a broadside skid, struck the bottom of the ditch and overturned 1 ½ times before the vehicle came to rest on its top. This caused Sparks to be ejected and came to rest 20 feet from the vehicle.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that they found the odor of alcohol on the driver, leading to a DUI. Seat belts were not in use.

Sparks was transferred to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, OK. Admitted in stable condition with trunk internal injuries.
