The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 1,170 new positive COVID-19 cases for Oklahoma on Thursday, Oct. 1. Oklahoma’s seen an overall total of 88,369 COVID-19 cases as 12,851 cases are active.
Four additional virus-related deaths were reported Thursday to put Oklahoma’s death toll to 1,035. None of the deaths were local.
Kay County saw 19 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, putting the overall total to 656 cases, 13 deaths and 492 recoveries. As for the active cases in Kay County, there are 135 for Ponca City, nine for Newkirk and eight each for Blackwell and Tonkawa. There are no active cases for Braman and Kaw City.
As for new cases in local counties, there are 37 for Payne County, 28 for Garfield County, 25 for Logan County, 11 for Washington County, nine for Osage County,four for Noble County, three for Grant County and two for Pawnee County.

OSDH is reporting an additional 1,383 new recoveries for Thursday, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 74,483. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
Officials report that as of Wednesday, 1,127,072 test results have returned negative. There have been 6,510 total hospitalizations as 610 people are currently hospitalized.
