The Kay County Sheriff’s office received reports Saturday morning regarding a phone scam. Four area
residents received calls that claimed to be sergeants asking for information on sex offenders.
Two residents made a report at 9:54 a.m. when a subject identified as Sgt. Cann. The phone number, 580-203-5202, was a Ft. Towson, Oklahoma number. A third resident made a report at 11:38 a.m. when a person called from 580-485-6747 and identified as Sgt. Johnson. A fourth resident received a call Saturday afternoon from 580-203-5202 who, as previously, identified as Sgt. Cann.
