Kay County surpasses the 200 COVID-19 cases mark, OSDH reporting 1,117 new cases for Thursday

The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 1,117 new positive COVID-19 cases for Thursday, July 30. Oklahoma has now seen up 35,740 cases overall since the start of the pandemic, and 7,329 cases are active.

Kay County has six new COVID-19 cases, pushing the county’s total of cases beyond the 200 mark with 205 cases, 10 deaths and 155 recoveries. As for active cases in Kay County, Ponca City has 36, Blackwell with three and Kaw City with two.

For new cases in local counties, Washington County has nine, Osage County with six, Payne County has three, Garfield County with two and Noble County with one. Pawnee County dropped from 115 cases overall down to 113. You can see a list of the data for local counties at the bottom of the article.

A total of 13 new virus-related deaths were documented by OSDH on Thursday. None were identified in the past 24 hours:

  • A Caddo County male in the 65 or older group.
  • A male and a female both of Cleveland County in the 65 or older age group.
  • A Mayes County male in the 65 or older group.
  • A male and a female both of McCurtain County in the 65 or older age group.
  • Two Oklahoma County males in the 65 or older age group.
  • An Okmulgee County male in the 65 or older age group.
  • Two males and two females all of Tulsa County in the 65 or older age group.

Oklahoma’s death toll is now at 536.

OSDH is also reporting 1,025 new recoveries for Thursday, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 28,411. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.

There have been up to 579,426 negative test results. Health officials also report that there have been 3,104 total hospitalizations, and 647 patients are currently hospitalized.
