Kay, Garfield, Noble and Payne counties all see one new virus-related death Thursday


The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 1,677 new COVID-19 cases for Oklahoma on Thursday, putting the state at 409,401 overall cases with 23,111 cases being active.

OSDH documented 48 new virus-related deaths on Wednesday, putting Oklahoma’s death toll to 3,948. One death being for Kay County individual from Tonkawa. Garfield, Noble and Payne counties each saw one new death.

Kay County saw 41 new COVID-19 cases, putting the county at 4,984 COVID-19 cases, 67 deaths and 4,648 recoveries. There are 269 active cases in the county, which is 20 more than Wednesday. Data for Kay County communities is posted below:


Ponca City – 3,660 cases/36 deaths/3,437 recoveries

Blackwell – 626 cases/16 deaths/568 recoveries

Newkirk – 414 cases/3 death/378 recoveries

Tonkawa – 347 cases/12 deaths/324 recoveries

Kaw City – 60 cases/1 death/58 recoveries

Braman – 21 cases/0 deaths/20 recoveries


For new COVID-19 cases in local counties, there are 38 for Garfield, 22 for Logan, 20 for Payne, 19 for Osage, nine for Washington, two each for Grant and Pawnee and one for Noble. Data for local counties is posted below:


Payne County – 8,146 cases/44 deaths/7,736 recoveries

Garfield County – 7,305 cases/65 deaths/6,891 recoveries

Kay County – 4,984 cases/67 deaths/4,648 recoveries

Washington County – 4,474 cases/79 deaths/4,131 recoveries

Osage County – 4,303 cases/41 deaths/4,020 recoveries

Logan County – 3,814 cases/26 deaths/3,534 recoveries

Pawnee County – 1,575 cases/28 deaths/1,454 recoveries

Noble County – 1,302 cases/10 deaths/1,208 recoveries

Grant County – 519 cases/7 deaths/491 recoveries


OSDH is also reporting 2,175 new recoveries for Thursday, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 382,342. The number of new recoveries is greater than the number of new COVID-19 cases Thursday. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.

There have been 494,085 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine administered in Oklahoma and that there are 110,860 completed series. The number of prime doses given is 383,225. There have also been 371,975 prime doses allocated and 243,125 boost doses allocated.
