Lake Ponca Boulder Bash Is Sunday

Cyclists across Oklahoma are tuning up their bikes for Lake Ponca Boulder Bash   this Sunday

While formal races often require participants to wear helmets, did you know hundreds of cyclists are killed each year in traffic accidents? The majority of these accidents involve serious head injuries, highlighting the importance of wearing a bicycle helmet.

As of now, only 22 states, including the District of Columbia, have statewide laws regarding mandatory helmet use by minors, let alone all ages.

Ponca City will soon see the first ever mountain bike race held on the shores of Lake Ponca, with the Ponca City Mountain Bike Society teaming with the Oklahoma Earthbike Fellowship to bring the inaugural “Boulder Bash” to Ponca City. The race will be apart of the Oklahoma State “Tour De Dirt” series. It will take place in Ponca on Sunday, August 20, starting at 8Am at the Lake Ponca Mountain Bike Trails 3000 East Prospect.   Over 150 racers and their families and friends are expected to spend the weekend in the area.
