Ottawa Amusements have announced they’re cutting their weeklong visit short, but will be operating the carnival tonight for one final night. The threat of rain in the weekend forecast is cited as the reason. So, if you want to ride the rides – tonight is the night! .You can catch The Wizard of Oz on stage in Tonkawa tonight and tomorrow in Tonkawa – with all donations and proceeds going to the TES Performing Arts Center. Tickets are just $1, so be generous when making your donation this weekend.The 17th Annual Peachtree Landing “Cowboy Ball” is tonight at Busy B Arena. Enjoy food, drinks, entertainment, silent auction and your chance to win a vehicle. This event is for adults, age 21 and up. It’s “Pieces of a Collection: Selected Quilts of the Pioneer Woman Museum.” Several programs are planned to coincide with the exhibit, including two taught by Ponca City quilt artist, author and instructor Elsie Campbell. The first, “Care and Conservation of Heirloom Quilts” is tomorrow morning at 10:30. And next Saturday, May 6th, Campbell will lead a workshop for beginning quilters from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The workshop is limited to 12 students. Cost for the class, including lunch, is $50 plus the supplies and is payable at registration. Certified technicians will inspect your car seat to make sure its safe, properly installed, the right size for your child, and not the subject of any current recall. If you need a car seat, some will be available for a $20 donation.
