Local Woman Dies During House Fire

The communication’s center at the Ponca City Police Department received a request for an ambulance this morning at 9:54am reporting fumes within a house in the 1700 block of Richway.

Within a minute, another call was received reporting that the home was on fire.

Police, Fire and ambulance responded. An elderly woman was transported from the scene to Alliance Ponca City and was pronounced deceased.

A representative from the State Fire Marshall’s Office is responding to determine the cause of the fire. No other details are available at this time.

The deceased has been identified as 81 year old Sue Baker.
