This report from the Ponca City Police Departments Sherry Bowers. A local resident reported receiving a letter in the mail notifying him that he had a criminal warrant from the town of Quinton, Oklahoma along with a pending suspension of his drivers license. The letter also asked for a cashiers check or money order.
This is another scam. Please, don’t give anyone any of your financial information over the phone or pay someone because they threaten you with arrest, according to Detective Richard Evans. The Municipal Court doesn’t send warrants out in the mail like this one, Evans continued.
If you have a question or concern, please call the non-emergency number to the Ponca City Police Department, 767-0370.
