The Arkansas City Police Department cited a 66-year-old Wellington man in connection with a hit-and- run accident involving two juveniles.
The man was cited for failure to report an accident and inattentive driving. Ark City Police did not provide the man’s name.
A church bus had stopped in the roadway to pick up passengers. Two of them were children, aged 4 and 7, who stepped out into the street to get on the bus.
The 2007 Chrysler started to go around the stopped bus, striking one of the children and pushing the child into the other child.
Both children were examined at the scene by EMS and neither reported any injuries.
