A Grant County woman that went missing Sunday afternoon was found safe along the Sumner/Harper County line in Kansas later that evening.
According to the Wellington Daily News, Anna McDowell, 63, was reported missing when she left her home in the 1300 block of Maple Street in Wakita at 3 p.m. Sunday.
Sumner County Sheriff deputies alerted Grant County of McDowell’s whereabouts at 8:30 p.m. Sunday evening when she was found on the side of the road covered in mud on Creek Road.
McDowell then got inside her silver 19999 Ford Econoline and started driving north. However, due to recent rainstorms, the vehicle got stuck.
McDowell was later transported to the Sumner County District 1 Hospital in Caldwell where she was treated and released to her family.
