The Ponca City High School Back to School Bash this Saturday is being sponsored by the 2M2L group.

PoHi Science Teacher Zach Murray, the representative of PoHI said TOO MUCH TOO LOSE, better know as  2M2L is a nationwide project which aims to decrease underage drinking and related social problems, decrease youth access to alcohol through retail and social sources, increase community-level support for environmental change, and increase youth-driven prevention activities.

2M2L project is successful because of the many local businesses that have donated door prizes or funds to purchase door prizes for this event. Some of the door prizes that will be given away are laptops, PS4s and Beat headphones. There will be free pizza, water and snow cones.

The project is funded by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. The project’s comprehensive plan includes law enforcement training and technical assistance, community mobilization, strategic partnership development, youth leadership development, alcohol retailer training, interagency collaboration, and media advocacy.

Admission begins at 5:30 p.m. at Wentz Pool. Those that are pre-registered as part of the volley ball tournament can enter at 5 p.m. PoHi students must have their school ID to enter. The pools will be open and those planning to swim must have a swimsuit.

The event ends at 9 p.m. Those that leave the grounds early will not be permitted to re-enter.
