From the City of Ponca City. Following months of hard work, Scott Dedmon of ADG P.C. of Oklahoma City presented a conceptual design study, and cost estimate for a new Public Safety Center in Ponca City to the City Commission on Monday at a work session. The proposed new facility would serve as the new home for the Ponca City Police Department and the Municipal Jail. ADG worked with Redstone Architects, Inc. out of Michigan and Elevatus Architecture out of Indiana to create the conceptual plan and renderings, and White & Associates out of Oklahoma City to come up with the detailed cost estimate. Redstone specializes in Law Enforcement facilities, and Elevatus does a great deal of work in jail facilities. The City of Ponca City entered into an agreement for services with ADG back in June 2017. The architects spent time visiting with employees from all of the different areas of the Ponca City Police Department and developed a space needs estimate  from that work. The space needs study was then used to put together conceptual floor plans, taking into consideration the workflow and adjacencies of functions within the building. Over time the plan has been refined and the conceptual design study and cost estimate have been completed. At the work session today Dedmon provided the commission an overview of the process, a look at the preliminary floor plans, and site plans, as well as the cost estimate. Moving forward the City Commission will discuss a funding source for the project, which is estimated at $19.9 million total. The proposed site for the project will be the block just east of the current Police Station in the downtown area.
