The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 705 new positive COVID-19 cases for Thursday, Aug. 13. Oklahoma has now seen 46,103 since early March, and 6,810 cases are active.
Latest report shows two new COVID-19 cases for Kay County who has now seen 254 cases, 11 deaths and 213 recoveries. As for the active cases in the county, 17 are in Ponca City, six for Blackwell, four in Kaw City, three in Tonkawa, and two in Newkirk.
Out of the 11 new virus-related deaths reported Thursday, one of those was a Garfield County female in the 65 or older age group. Garfield County also saw 18 new COVID-19 cases to put them at 529 cases, 6 deaths and 359 recoveries.
As for new cases in other local counties, there are 14 for Washington County, 10 for both Logan and Osage counties, six for Payne County and two for Pawnee County.
OSDH is reporting 667 new recoveries for Thursday, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 38,655. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.
As of Thursday, 685,169 test results for Oklahoma have returned negative. There have been 3,901 total hospitalizations, and 600 people are currently hospitalized.
