Newkirk football coach takes job at Nowata

Newkirk Head Football Coach Graham Snelding said on Wednesday that he recently accepted the Head Football coaching position at Nowata.

According to Newkirk Public Schools on Facebook, Snelding says that he enjoyed his time at Newkirk and it will always hold a special place in his heart. Snelding is very appreciative of how the community and school supported and treated him and his family, and wishes the football team, students, faculty, staff, and the Newkirk community the best.

Snelding took the head coaching job for Newkirk in 2017. Prior to that, he was the offensive coordinator for the Ponca City Wildcats Football from 2008 to 2011. Snelding has also coached high school football in Oklahoma at Pawhuska, Marietta, and Frederick. He also coached at Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Ks. in 2001.
