35 year old Tia Lynn Powers, of Ponca City, entered a no contest plea in Kay County District Court to a felony count of child abuse.
Feb. 9 Powers was charged when the Ponca City police department reported being contacted by AllianceHealth. The hospital said Powers gave birth with meth in her system on Jan. 11. The child was not due until Feb. 13.
The baby, who also tested positive for meth, was air lifted to OU Medical Center because of breathing issues.
Police Sgt. Jesse Kriebel reported that Powers stated she was left at the wrong house by a friend and smoked meth the day before the baby was born.
Powers appeared in court for sentencing before Judge David Bandy on Friday and was sentenced to a 10 year suspended prison sentence.
Powers was also given a one-year suspended sentence in the county jail on a misdemeanor domestic abuse charge filed on April 17,
