Oklahoma Board of Education approves school to be taught on Saturdays in the fall

During a special meeting Thursday, the Oklahoma Board of Education voted to approve a waiver to allow school to be taught on Saturday starting in the fall and will be counted toward the year’s attendance requirements.

Classes were cut short in March of this year due to the pandemic. According to KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City, some senators shared the concern that the change would add stress to students who have already been greatly affected by COVID-19 and the shortened school year.
