Oklahoma has now seen over 100,000 COVID-19 cases, 797 new cases reported Monday

The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 797 new positive COVID-19 cases for Monday, Oct. 12. Oklahoma has now surpassed the 100,000 mark as the state has seen an overall total of 100,184 COVID-19 cases. There are 13,815 cases active.

Six additional virus-related deaths were documented by OSDH on Monday to put Oklahoma’s death toll to 1,104. None of which occurred in northern Oklahoma.

Kay County saw a slight increase with two new COVID-19 cases. Kay County has seen 745 cases, 15 deaths and 629 recoveries. As for active cases in the county, there are 73 for Ponca City, 16 for Newkirk, eight for Tonkawa, six for Blackwell and five for Kaw City.

For new cases in local counties, there are 15 for Logan, 13 for Osage, 12 each for Garfield and Payne and two each for Grant and Washington.

Logan County – 653 cases/2 deaths/527 recoveries

Pawnee County – 286 cases/5 deaths/251 recoveries

Noble County – 163 cases/3 deaths/147 recoveries

Grant County – 67 cases/1 death/53 recoveries

 

OSDH is reporting 745 new recoveries statewide on Monday, putting OKlahoma’s recovery total to 85,265. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.

Officials report that as of Friday, 1,224,883 test results have returned negative, there have been 7,124 total hospitalizations and 749 people are currently hospitalized.
