Oklahoma surpasses 90,000 COVID-19 cases overall on Saturday

The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting 1,189 new positive COVID-19 cases for Saturday, Oct. 3. This puts Oklahoma at 90,748 COVIID-19 cases overall as 12,700 cases are active.

Seven additional virus-related deaths were reported Saturday to put Oklahoma’s death toll to 1,051. While complete details are unknown, there are three overall for Kay, Garfield and Pawnee counties. The Kay County individual appeared to be from the Ponca City area, and all 22 deaths for Garfield County have been for Enid residents.

Kay County also saw five new COVID-19 cases on Saturday. This puts Kay County at 675 cases, 14 deaths and 522 recoveries. As for the active cases in Kay County, there are 123 for Ponca City, nine for Newkirk, seven for Blackwell, five for Tonkawa and four for Kaw City.

For new cases in local counties, there are 30 for Payne, 26 for Garfield, 17 for Washington, 14 for Osage, 12 for Logan, two for Grant and one for Noble.

OSDH is reporting 1,244 new recoveries for Saturday, putting Oklahoma’s recovery total to 76,997. In order for a recovery to count, the recovered patient must not be deceased or hospitalized and it has been 14 days since their report.

Officials report that as of Friday, 1,140,601 test results have returned negative. There have been 6,569 total hospitalizations as 623 people are currently hospitalized.
