Oklahoma Teachers Launch Effort to Impeach OEA Leaders

Some teachers in Oklahoma are circulating a social media petition to start impeachment proceedings against two high-ranking Oklahoma Education Association leaders.  The reason?  They don’t like the way they handled the recent teacher walkout.

The targeted leaders are OEA President Alicia Priest and Vice President Katherine Bishop. The online petition needs signatures from at least 15 percent of OEA delegates.  If that number is reached, the impeachment effort would go to the OEA Review board.

An OEA delegates assembly is being held today and tomorrow in Norman.  For more information on the effort, look for the Oklahoma Teacher Walkout page on Facebook.
