Oklahoma Woman Back Home After Being Wounded in Las Vegas Shooting

The mother of the Oklahoma woman among hundreds injured by a Las Vegas gunman says her daughter still has bullet fragments in her shoulder and arm, but her worst injuries aren’t physical.

“It’s traumatic. She’s having issues with sleeping,” Krissy Perry said of her daughter Shelby after the incident that killed 58 concert goers. “Flashbacks and stuff like that, the typical PTSD situation.”

In the midst of this chaos, a young woman who Shelby Perry just met stayed with her after she was shot.  Shelby took a bullet to the shoulder and has yet to have surgery.

“Without the young lady who was with her, Shelby would not be here today,” Perry said. “She literally saved Shelby’s life. She could’ve easily panicked and left her there. But she didn’t.”

Back in Oklahoma with her family, Shelby will meet with an orthopedic surgeon to decide what happens next.

They have set up a GoFundMe account for Shelby’s medical expenses and to help her until she’s able to work again.

“We appreciate all the love and support we’ve received so far,” Perry said. “Prayers are wonderful. They’ve worked miracles so far and I know they will continue to work.”
