The Ponca City Police Department reports that a crash at the intersection of 5th Street and Bradley Avenue has claimed the life of 53 year old Dale Lawrence of Ponca City. The accident was reported to the Communications Center at approximately 3:44 pm Friday afternoon. Lawrence was riding his motorcycle north bound on 5th Street. LaVonda Negrete, age 54, also of Ponca City, turned South off of Bradley Avenue and the collision occurred.
Negrete was not injured and was wearing a safety belt. Lawrence was wearing a helmet.
Negrette has been charged with fail to yield, transporting an open container of beer, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, DUI drugs and manslaughter.
